Note that due to strict laws on downloading copyrighted material especially the latest Hollywood movies, many commercial businesses no longer allow or restrict guests access to their WiFi. Be very careful if downloading copyrighted material in Germany.WiFi options
- Berlin Freifunk tries to allow everyone access to WiFi although it can be quite slow
- Public libraries generally provide free WiFi
- You can also hang around outside locations with open WiFi (eg Starbucks)
4G cellular data packages
- one of the cheapest ways to use 4G on your Germany SIM (free) is to buy a low usage once-off data package eg O2 provides 300Mb over 28 days for 5€.
